Uber employee analysis indicates sloppy management

Uber is an American multinational company that offers services such as ridesharing and food delivery. The company was founded in 2009 and today they operate in over 60 countries. When we analyzed 3 434 reviews, we noticed that employees seem to be unhappy with the managers as well as communication from the leadership.

What do we base our findings on?

Reviewers who mention the topic “communication” seem to give a lower grade than the average of all topics: 3,85 / 5 compared to 4,03 / 5. The sentiment has decreased over time and it is often mentioned together with “lack” and “poor”.
The topics “leadership” and “managers” seem to have a negative impact on the grade. “Leadership” occurs in 20% of the reviews, whereas “managers” occurs in 10%. They have both been mentioned consistently in the last few years with a decreasing sentiment.

Our analysis for Uber shows that there seems to be some dissatisfaction with the leadership and the managers. Many reviews mention the lack of experience among the managers and are that they doing a poor job.
We can also see that according to employees, communication is getting worse over time. Some reviewers mention that the company lacks internal communication.
